What is the Survey?
The 2015 Heartland in Motion Transportation Study is the first study in the country to ask households to download a smartphone app that will capture travel and ask questions about your trips. The study is jointly sponsored by the Madison County Council of Governments (MCCOG) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Planning and Office of Transportation Policy Studies.
Why is it Important?
MCCOG and FHWA believe that this new method of collecting travel behavior will lead to significant improvements over traditional methods (like the one you took last year). Ultimately, it is believed this study will lead to better improvements not only in our region, but throughout the United States. As a result of the success of the 2014 Heartland in Motion Transportation Study, our region was selected to be the spearhead for this new and exciting study.
